About the Event

Biases are shortcuts. They're one of the many ways humans tend to form tendencies, inclinations, or prejudices toward or against something or someone. Early in human history, biases allowed people to survive by my making quick judgements about threats. But this is 2021. Biases are now more prevalent in the workplace than in the wilderness and they're most often wrong. Unconscious bias can lead to a myriad of problems in a professional environment, including conflict, improper hiring, unequal opportunities, and humiliation.  This session will discuss unconscious bias, how to recognize it in the workplace, and provide strategies for intervention.
